It’s My Birthday And I’ll Bake If I Want To

This past weekend I celebrated my birthday and it was awesome!  Mostly because my boyfriend is a rock star in the birthday present department!  My gift from Colby was the most amazing present, so perfect in every way.  He bestowed upon me…drum roll please…a pink Kitchen Aid mixer!  It’s so pretty!  He gave it to me Saturday at about noon-ish while we were taking a house project break.  My break quickly became a baking break and I proceeded to make a couple of strawberry rhubarb pies and raspberry cream cupcakes (with raspberries from the garden) with raspberry cream cheese frosting (again with raspberries from the garden).  So yummy and the mixer worked like a charm!  Side note: Colby wanted me to make sure that you all knew that I wanted the mixer and that he didn’t give it to me expecting me to slave away in the kitchen for him.  I admit…it’s true.
