Wedding Wednesday: Burlap…Burlap

Before I get into the meat of this post, you know…the good stuff, I feel the need to explain the title.  Have you ever seen the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off?  You know the part when the teacher keeps saying, “Bueller….Bueller…Bueller”?  Oh yeah.  Bringing back some memories there, eh?!  But that was what I was going for when writing the title to this post, “Burlap….Burlap….Burlap”.

But anyway, today’s Wedding Wednesday blog post is dedicated to the beauty of burlap and my mild…scratch that…extreme obsession with all things burlap for the wedding.  I am dead set on including burlap in the reception decor.  I’m still not 100% certain what I will do, after all the wedding is still almost nine months away, but believe me, there will be burlap.  But let me share with you some of the burlap-esque ideas that I’m digging.  And of course most of these pics were found via Pinterest (you can follow me here) or the Style Me Pretty blog.

First up is the burlap-ed drink station originally found here:

And then there’s this GORGEOUS burlap table runner which I believe is stenciled, originally found here:

I can see myself coming up with a custom stencil for some burlap runners similar to this.  I love the idea and for some reason I get the rustic, French countryside vibe from this.  Then there’s the wrap a found bottle or cheap vase in burlap/ribbon/lace for instant prettification (picture originally from here):

And then there’s the basic, simple table runner with some end flair (picture found here):

I can also envision fringing the ends or hemming it or adding a custom symbol, like maybe a fancy “C” for Campbell (what will eventually be my new last name).  Then there’s my favorite, I seriously swoon every time I see this picture, the burlap ring bearer pillow (which I can’t seem to find the original source, it was uploaded to Pinterest here but doesn’t seem to live online):

And the best part, not only do I adore burlap as wedding decorations and accessories but I also adore it for our house.  If I decide to go the burlap table runner route (which is VERY likely), I will definitely be recycling that material and incorporating it into our home decor.  I’m envisioning burlap buckets and benches and pinboards, oh my!

SO…this concludes our little tour through wedding burlap bliss.  I hope you enjoyed the ride.  Come again soon!

Pssst…So to recap some of our recent Wedding Wednesday post, it looks like our backyard wedding will include a spud bar, oooze with burlap, and have coffee filter pom poms.  This wedding is getting interesting!  Maybe I should start looking for dresses soon?!
