I am sooooo behind on things. Like I’ll be shopping for Christmas presents for all my friends and family in May kind of behind on things. And yes, I said Christmas. It’s coming folks. Only 125 more shopping days left . Did you know there’s a Christmas Countdown Clock website?! Now you know. Anyway, back to my point. I’m WAY past due on recapping the Inspired Design Challenge with my four lovely co-hosts.
That’s Jennifer from Brave New Home, Lindsay from Life Of Splendor, Kristin from Bliss At Home, and Sara from Embrace My Space. I’m surprised they didn’t call collections on me! For the past five weeks, we’ve been working on projects around our homes inspired by some of our favorite stores including Target, World Market, West Elm, Anthropologie, and Urban Outfitters. Each week, we posted our inspiration pic along with our project how-to. It…was…fan-tabulous people…FAN-TABULOUS! I tackled so many projects around our house (read all about all my Inspired Design Challenge projects back here). So we figured the series deserved a proper ending…a recap of sorts. So I picked my favorite project from each of my bloggie buddies’ sites to highlight here, but you can check out all of our projects which I corralled in a Pinterest board here.
First up, Jennifer from Brave New Home. Jennifer is absolutely adorable. I love her sweet personality and she has the most amazing eye for style! I fell in love with Jennifer’s blog back in the day for her love of minty spaces. Oh mint, oh so adorable mint! My absolute favorite Inspired Design Challenge project she tackled was the Anthro inspired tassel pillow.
Swoon! It’s so adorable and so budget friendly! The pillow is a $3 Ikea pillow cover and the embroidery floss (sarcastically) broke the bank at $10 for the lot.
Next up, Lindsay from Life of Splendor. I adore Lindsay, not only for bohemian style that she pulls off seamlessly, but also for her beautiful personality. We finally got to real life meet at Haven this year and Lindsay has to be one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Lindsay knocked off soooo many great projects during the Inspired Design Challenge but my favorite was how she took inspiration from a Nate Berkus basket for painting a light fixture.
It’s just one of those super original, I wish I could pull this off in my home, kind of projects. I love Lindsay for how she experiments in decor without fear.
Next up, Sara from Embrace My Space. When the challenge started, I was new to Sara’s blog. So new to her blog that I didn’t even realize she was expecting. That sweet little baby is so lucky to have Sara as a mom, if not only for the nursery space she has lovingly crafted. Although she made my uterus ache with her nursery projects, my favorite was the jewelry organizer she made inspired by some bedding and hardware from Anthropologie.
I love how she captured the granny chic-ness that Anthro exudes. It’s such an adorable project. And Sara’s jewelry? Could she live closer to me so I can raid her jewelry? You know, just borrow a few pieces here and there?
And last but certainly not least, Kristin from Bliss At Home. I always drool over Kristin’s house projects…every…single…one. She has one of those fearless styles where she can mix materials seamlessly and make it look so effortlessly put together. AND she uses gold like a champ! Seriously, Kristin can you teach my how to style spaces? Vignettes? Maybe just a nightstand or two? I need help! My favorite project of Kristin’s was the West Elm inspired DIY artwork.
My favorite part of her project was how she involved her boys in creating the art. AND how spot on that art was!
I’m not gonna lie, I’m pretty sad that the Inspired Design Challenge is over. I really enjoyed working on all the projects I tackled for the challenge and the motivation that came along with the challenge to finish those nagging projects, like spray painting a switch plate cover that we’ve had kicking around for nearly three years. Procrastinator say what?!
Pssst…Seriously, who is watching Duck Dynasty right now?! I could watch that show all day. Si and Mountain Man are killlllling me!
