Big News…Really Big News

So, I’m just going to cut to the chase.  This happened this weekend:

Thus, my reasoning for complete distraction all weekend.  Well, since the bling was bestowed upon me.  Yes, that’s right folks, Colby and I are officially engaged!  It happened on Sunday, and here is the scene of the crime:

While we were hanging out in a couple of old, plastic Adirondack chairs in our back yard, Colby popped the question.  We can now never sell this house.  It just got way too sentimental on us…I mean…me.

Goose was so excited about the engagement he could hardly contain himself.  He got stuck between some trees:

Started digging to China:

And chased a squirrel up a tree:

He didn’t know quite what to do with all the excitement raging through him.

But anyway, back to the point of the blog post.  So we’re engaged now, will probably get married next summer (we’re thinking August 2012), and in true Colby/Angie style are planning to DIY the crap out of this wedding!  AND we’re taking you all along for the ride.  I am officially introducing you to Wedding Wednesday, even though most of you are probably reading this on Thursday.  What can I say, I’m a habitual evening blogger.  So welcome to the first installment of Wedding Wednesday.  I know…uber creative, right?!  I almost called it Wedding Thursday just to be a little rebellious and out of the ordinary.  I hope you all enjoy Wedding Wednesday over the next year or so as we create a super cheap but super fabulous (my word, not Colby’s) backyard wedding bash!  If DIY weddings aren’t your thing, I’m sorry, just skip Wednesdays.

Pssst…In our next installment of Wedding Wednesday I’ll give you the scoop on the big proposal and also post a couple of pics of us with the bling!  I’m currently suffering from a stupid summer cold and didn’t want to rival Rudolph in our newly engaged photos.  Stupid, stupid cold!  Who gets summer colds?!  Seriously?!  So stay tuned!

So, rather than fill up your comment box with long details and stuff, email me caitlin (at) storymixmedia (dot) com. The contest starts Monday so hurryyyy! 🙂
