One of the things that’s been on my wedding planning to-do list now for quite some time (haha…time…you’ll get it in a second), is to craft a preliminary wedding day timeline. Normally, this is right up my alley and includes all my favorite things: planning, organizing, Colby, and planning some more. But for some reason I’ve been stuck. We’re talking someone double parked completely boxing you in stuck (that’s totally happened to me…and the idiot lady gave me…ME…attitude for ruining her dinner to have her move HER car so I could get out…sheesh!). So I decided to blog about the timeline. That’s a sure fire way to get the task done. So I did a little digging, mostly on The Knot’s website, and here’s what I got:
5:00 PM – Processional starts
5:05 PM – Bride walks down
5:10 PM – Ceremony starts
5:40 PM – Cocktail hour begins
5:40 PM – Pictures with bridal party & family
6:30 PM – Bridal party entrance
6:35 PM – Grand entrance bride & groom
6:40 PM – First dance
6:45 PM – Bride & groom are seated
7:00 PM – Dinner is served
7:30 PM – Best man toast
7:40 PM – Maid of honor toast
8:00 PM – Father daughter/mother son dances
8:10 PM – Dancing continues (some line dancing…yes?! and Colby starts shaking his butt)
9:00 PM – Cake Cutting
9:45 PM – Bouquet/garter toss
10:30 PM – Bride & groom speech
11:00 PM – End of the reception
After party at the Sea Dog???
I’m totally open to suggestions here. Seriously. Especially from those of you who have recently planned your weddings. What am I missing? And because I can’t have a blog post without a photo, here’s one of our reception venue:
Awwww…is it August yet? Only 156 days to go!
Pssst…The photo is from the Morgan Hill Event Center website found here.
Geeeez, Ange, you’re so organized I feel like I’m not doing a good job in the pre-planning/planning stages of my own. lol
I’m not gonna lie…I didn’t do ANYTHING the first six months of our engagement! But LOVED it! Relish it! You’ve got plenty of time! So excited for you two!
Are you absolutely sure you can follow this time line to the minute. Good luck.
Haha…you sound like Dad! At least we have a plan!
